So the last time I updated was Sunday the 24th. The next day after bootcamp, Mary and SarahFrog and I went running. Then I had pilates. The three of us went swimming in the afternoon at the pool in my parent's neighborhood. We had fun!! Mary is getting better....don't let her whining fool you.
That night Mary and I txtd quite a bit as she was stuck on the runway for hours. The next morning I went to bootcamp and when I got home everything had fallen apart. Mom was in KC hoping to see my aunt who wasn't doing well. She got there in time luckily. Then Mary had to pick up another aunt to get her there in time too. My Dad and I spent the rest of the day waiting for the phone to ring. That was a long, sad day.
Wednesday morning my aunt, Mimi, died after a long, painful battle with cancer. I am so happy my Mom got to spend that last day with her. Thursday my Dad and I drove to Kansas City and I got to hang out with Mary again. My whole family was together for the weekend, which was nice and I think my Mom was thankful to have us all together. I am still tired from everything that has happened, but I need to get back on track.
No bootcamp this week because of the holiday, but I did go to advanced pilates on Monday, pilates and pump and the gym on Tuesday, 16 mile bike ride on Wednesday, 18 holes of golf today. Not as intense a schedule as I had been keeping, but I guess I haven't been a couch lard-ass either.
Today, tomorrow and Saturday are the Second Annual Independence Day Invitational that Tim and I play. Last year was 5 days and lots of prizes and fun. This year is fun too, but I didn't get much planned ahead of time. Yesterday we were driving by the golf store we like best, after visiting my bike at the store, and Tim pulled into the parking lot!!! Then we got to play with new putters!!! Then he bought them for us!!! I got the Yes! golf Natalie and he got the Yes! golf Marilyn. AWESOME!!!! Today after our round at The Ridge at Castle Pines North, which was so fun, we got fitted and brought home our new clubs! The whole process was very cool. They taped our putting strokes and showed us the results in slow-motion on the big screen. My old putter would skid the ball about 8 inches before turning it over and Tim's would do a little hop for 13 inches and then turnover. Natalie and Marilyn will be given loving homes and hopefully will improve our scores.
Tomorrow, the second round of the invitational, will include my Dad. We got the prizes today. Three awards will be given. 1st for Overall Score, 2nd for Closest to the Pin and 3rd for Greens Hit in Regulation. We are playing the course Tim and I play with our couples league. Dad hasn't played there before, so I think it will be fun. Very walkable and quick, not much waiting.
I am glad to be back to updating....Hopefully this hiatus will be unique.
